what's a dayshift look like?
When I arrive, we'll chat and I'll ask about how you are physically and emotionally and we'll assess the priorities for the day.
We might talk about sore nipples and leaky breasts, you might have questions about belly buttons and baths, but sometimes the real thing is I walk in and the answer for the day is...
HELP WE ALL NEED NAPS.
Maybe there are some dishes that need to be loaded in the dishwasher or help with bottles. Maybe you need help learning to wear your new sling.
I might check on you and then throw a load of laundry on. Baby will probably nap on me for at least an hour or two, giving you a break to take a shower, eat, breathe, think, sleep.
We might throw together a plate of food while chatting about how having family in town has really been. It all depends on how postpartum you are and what feels most important to get done that day to help you have the best transition into motherhood you can.

what's an overnight shift look like?
We'll chat and make our plan for the night, whether you're breastfeeding or using a bottle, pumping or using formula and the routines that are unique to your home.
I'll check in with you and see how you are and if you need any emotional support or have any questions before everyone tucks in for the evening.
.
And then you'll get ready for something like 8-9 hours of sleep depending on your feeding routine.
I'll do tasks like prep bottles, wash pump parts, and take care of baby throughout the night so you and your partner can feel a little more human.
